Objects stay objects. From the studio to the listener.
In every established delivery format the last step is a render: moving objects become fixed channels, and what reaches the listener is a snapshot. In SMX the scene stays alive.
The format.SMX keeps every sound object addressable all the way to playback. Streamable. Movement is stored as behaviour, not as a recorded path: around ten bytes of metadata, computed while the file plays. Objects can react to events in real time, without a new render.
The studio.saimox™ Studio is the macOS application where SMX is made. It imports and exports ADM-BWF, IAMF (marketed by Samsung and Google as Eclipsa Audio), IAB to SMPTE ST 2098-2, NHK 22.2 and Ambisonics, all from one project.
The playback. The saimox Player for macOS is free, and so is the web player in the browser. Whoever receives an SMX file needs no licence, no account and no multichannel system. A link and headphones are enough.
One perpetual licence per major version. No subscription, no discounts. 14 days of trial with everything switched on. Creating and playing SMX files is free and unlimited, for everyone.
The format is free. The tool costs. Listening never costs anything.
Launch: 15 September 2026.
